Service & Ministry

Community Service is an important part of the OLW curriculum. There are several all-school service projects throughout the year. The largest all-school service project occurs at Thanksgiving, when every grade from PK to 8th grade, as well as Student Council, adopt a family, usually through Catholic Charities or our St. Vincent DePaul Society. The students bring in food and money to donate a full Thanksgiving meal to these local needy families.

Other service projects include:
Creating placemats for the homebound in our parish
Making blankets for Project Linus
Christmas shopping at Target for community families in need
Collecting toiletries for the Little Sisters of the Poor

Students are also encouraged to become altar servers in grade school and join the parish Youth Ministry in high school.
