ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
To assure the safety of all students, we have new arrival and dismissal procedures. For information, click here
MORNING ARRIVAL
Thank you again for your patience as everyone acclimates themselves to the new arrival procedures. The opening of the second entry to the elementary building has done wonders for alleviating the backup on Mitchell St. Except for the occasional straggler; most of the kids are getting dropped off by 8:15 and in their rooms on time for Morning Prayer and announcements.
I have just a few requests to insure that things continue to run smoothly :
- Please try to have your children as ready as possible when you pull up to the curb so that they can exit the vehicle quickly.
- If you need additional time to get organized and notice the cars in front of you have already pulled away, please pull as far forward as possible so that cars can continue to fill in behind yours.
- Please do not go around other cars once you are pulled up to the curb unless you are signaled to do so by one of the faculty. Please remember that we all can have a “rough start” from time to time, and the car in front of you may just need a few extra seconds to get organized. Please be patient, and we can all work together to avoid an accident.
Thank you to advance to everyone for their continued cooperation.

HEADPHONES FOR ELEMENTARY COMPUTER LAB
You may now purchase this item from our school office. We will continue to provide headphones for all of our students. For hygienic reasons, our current headphones are cleaned after each group of students uses them. Should you prefer to purchase one for your child’s individual use, it will be kept in the computer lab, in a large Ziploc plastic bag, labeled with the student’s name.
* * The cost of the headphones is $15.00. Please send your request, with payment (include student’s name and room number), to the school office. Checks can be made payable to OLW. Plastic bags will be provided.
* * NOTE: Only school-purchased headphones will be permitted.
INTERNET SAFETY FOR YOUR CHILDREN
As more and more children use the Internet to communicate with friends, their safety is a source of concern to all of us here at Wayside School. We have provided the following links and documents so that parents can act in advance to keep their kids safe when they use the Internet to communicate.
