Welcome to Wayside, a National Blue Ribbon School

Our school provides a vital Catholic Christian environment where students are motivated to attain their fullest academic, physical, and spiritual potential, where Christian values, mutual trust, and respect permeate all programs and activities, and where each individual is encouraged to live and to share the Gospel message of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our curriculum provides proficiency in basic skills, an appreciation for the pursuit of excellence, and preparation to meet the challenges of the world. We offer morning and afternoon 3 and 4 year old preschool and kindergarten, all day kindergarten, grades 1-5, middle school grades 6-8, extended day care before and after school and we have extensive computer facilities.

For more information on registration click here.

Dental and Physical Forms for the '08-'09 School Year:
Dental Forms for all students were sent home March 10th. The state recommends students visit the dentist every six months but they require that students in grades Kindergarten, Second, and Sixth submit a completed dental form before the First day of the new school year. Dental forms for students entering K, 2, & 6 should be turned in to the office BEFORE the first day of school in the fall. All of the other grade levels should turn in the dental forms at least once a year.

Physical forms
for students entering Kindergarten or Fifth Grade were also sent home Mar. 10. The state requires all new students entering school for the first time and those entering Kindergarten and and Fifth grade to have a complete physical with updated immunizations. These forms should be completed and turned into the office BEFORE the first day of school in the fall.
**NOTE**: The Illinois State Board of Education has changed the requirement for physical/immunizations from 5th grade to 6th grade, therefore, current 5th graders are "grandfathered" into the 6th grade requirement, and current 4th graders won't be required to have a physical until 2009-2010 school year.

OLW WILDCAT TAKE HOME FOLDERS :
Most things that need to be brought home will come home in our blue OLW Wildcat folders. These should also be used to return papers, forms, etc. to school. Worn or lost folders will be replaced in the office for $1.00.

Addresses for both school offices are listed on the front cover of the family handbook. Absences are not to be communicated through email. Check school directory page on this web site for that info as well.
