Well, this was certainly an unusual Catholic Schools Week. We started with a great open house on a slightly slushy Sunday. Then, boom, more snow and school was cancelled for Monday. Tuesday was Teacher Appreciation Day and FSA treated teachers, school and parish staff to a long lunch with home made soups and salads. And then Polar Vortex arrived. Actual daytime temperatures were in the -10’s and below; wind chill temperatures went as low as -45. School was cancelled on Wednesday and Thursday. A wonderful anti-bullying presentation on Wednesday and Student Appreciation Day on Thursday had to be rescheduled. Luckily school was back on for Friday since that was Spirit Day! Students and teachers wore blue and white and spirit gear and gathered in the gym on Friday afternoon. It was loud and crazy and fun – everything it should be. Willie danced and had the crowd cheering.¬†Each home room participated in the silly races. Even the teachers competed. OLW school spirit was at its best.
