School Advisory Board

OLW School Advisory Board

 

 

The OLW School Advisory Board is responsible for:
1) Developing policies that enable the school to meet its goals
2) Reviewing and advising on the annual school budget
3) Meeting with the pastor, screening, interviewing and hiring the school principal
4) Acting as the public relations arm of the school, and
5) Representing its constituency.

Board members must attend a comprehensive in-service session conducted by the Archdiocese of Chicago, Office of Catholic Education. In addition, they must regularly attend monthly school board meetings and executive sessions as scheduled. Members are expected to actively participate in committee assignments as well.

WILDCAT PROWL!!!

COACHES MEETING: There is an informational meeting for all coaches (head or assistant) at 7 P.M Wednesday, September 23 in the Parish Center .  If you have volunteered or plan to volunteer to coach any Booster activity, you should attend this meeting."

parents who are walking with their child’s class, please meet them at the Ridge St. parking lot exit.

Remember that donations are due on or before the day of the Prowl ~ Friday, September 25 th.

NEW THIS YEAR! Families with more than 3 children participating in the Prowl will receive the backpack and water bottle for ALL of their Prowl walkers/runners once the minimum donation for three is met.

Board meetings are held on the third Monday of the month at 7:30 pm.

TERM OF OFFICE: Three (3) years.

In working towards the goals of the Genesis Plan to better Catholic Schools, the School Advisory Board recently voted on, and approved, to expand the school board from seven to nine members. Due to the three year term commitment, this will be phased in over the next three school years. The next two years the board will have eight members with the third year completing the expansion with nine. Along with the two open positions, we will be adding one additional position this year. Starting with this election, three board members will be elected or appointed annually.

WHO MAY RUN:
We invite all parishioners 21 years and older to fill out an application and be considered for one of the three open positions. See below for the School Advisory Board requirements and application. Please pick one up and fill it out. The applications must be returned to the Parish Office by 4:30pm on Monday, March 16th.
