School Board

OLW School Board

The OLW School Board is responsible for:
1) Developing policies that enable the school to meet its goals
2) Reviewing and advising on the annual school budget
3) Meeting with the pastor, screening, interviewing and hiring the school principal
4) Acting as the public relations arm of the school, and
5) Representing its constituency.

Board members must attend a comprehensive in-service session conducted by the Archdiocese of Chicago, Office of Catholic Education. In addition, they must regularly attend monthly school board meetings and executive sessions as scheduled. Members are expected to actively participate in committee assignments as well.

Board meetings are held on the third Monday of the month at 7:30 pm.

TERM OF OFFICE: Three (3) years.

WHO MAY RUN: Any registered parishioner who is at least 21 years of age. The School Board
should broadly represent the parish. It is not necessary to have children currently attending OLW School to run for election, nor is teaching or administrative experience a prerequisite.
