Administration - Meet our Staff

A Word from our Principal, David Wood

Welcome to Our Lady of the Wayside School and welcome to our website.   Information coming soon.

I can be reached at 847-255-0050, ext. 244 or by email at dwood@olwschool.org.

First and foremost, OLW is a Catholic School which provides a vital Catholic environment in which Christian values, mutual respect and trust are emphasized. As part of this school's mission, our school day includes daily prayer, regular liturgies, prayers services and a daily connection to our relationship with God. With the continuous support of our parents and school staff and our pastor, OLW provides an award winning program of studies for children preschool through grade 8. I believe that our outstanding program is able to continue because of the continuous support of our parents, who want to take an active role in their child’s education. Parents working with our dedicated staff really work. We also offer a wide variety of Sports and other Extra-curricular Activities.

It is with great pride, as principal of Our Lady of the Wayside School that I can do my part to make OLW a Place Where Great Things Happen!

The school administration and staff are assisted by:
- Booster Club - provides funding and support for OLW school physical education, athletic and recreational programs,
- Family/School Association - supports OLW school through leadership, volunteer services, special assistance, and fund-raising for school gifts and programs, and
- School Board - provides leadership in forming policy for OLW school.

2009-2010 KINDERGARTEN VISION FORMS:

If your child is absent from school: Whenever a student is absent from school, his/her parent/ guardian is expected to telephone the school at 847-255-0050 (extension 300) to report the absence. Please indicate the date of absence, your name, the student's name, homeroom teacher or room number, reason for absence, and the expected duration of the leave. Requests for homework assignments should be made at this time. Calls should be made BEFORE 9:00 A.M. or the family will be contacted to verify the child's whereabouts. For accuracy sake, verbal messages from siblings and e-mails will not be accepted. A note signed by the parent/ guardian is required for re-admission to the classroom following any absence.
If your child is late to school:
Each school day begins with announcements at 8:20A.M. Elementary and middle school students arriving after 8:30 A.M. are expected to report directly to their respective building office for a tardy slip before reporting to class. This will help prevent unnecessary absence calls to parents. **NOTE** All elementary and middle school students arriving between 8:20 A.M. and 8:30 A.M. will still be marked tardy, but may report directly to their classroom.

A few words from Assistant Principal, Judith Dzieglewicz

Each year, we choose a theme that helps to keep our faculty and staff motivated and encouraged throughout the school year. This year's theme is "The Trip Home." I hope it encourages you as well.
