Administration - Meet our Staff

A Word from our Principal, Alan Musial

Welcome to Our Lady of the Wayside School and welcome to our website. Thanks to our web site student team and our technology coordinator we are able to provide you with a look at Who We Are, and What We're Doing. Feel free to browse, ask questions and make comments. If you are considering becoming part of our school family, take a look at OLW and give me a call to answer any questions as well as arranging a personal tour. I can be reached at 847-255-0050, ext. 244 or by email at amusial@olwschool.org.

First and foremost, OLW is a Catholic School which provides a vital Catholic environment in which Christian values, mutual respect and trust are emphasized. As part of this school's mission, our school day includes daily prayer, regular liturgies, prayers services and a daily connection to our relationship with God. With the continuous support of our parents and school staff and our pastor, OLW provides an award winning program of studies for children preschool through grade 8. I believe that our outstanding program is able to continue because of the continuous support of our parents, who want to take an active role in their child’s education. Parents working with our dedicated staff really work. We also offer a wide variety of Sports and other Extra-curricular Activities.

It is with great pride, as principal of Our Lady of the Wayside School that I can do my part to make OLW a Place Where Great Things Happen!

The school administration and staff are assisted by:
- Booster Club - provides funding and support for OLW school physical education, athletic and recreational programs,
- Family/School Association - supports OLW school through leadership, volunteer services, special assistance, and fund-raising for school gifts and programs, and
- School Board - provides leadership in forming policy for OLW school.

A few words from Assistant Principal, Judith Dzieglewicz

Each year, we choose a theme that helps to keep our faculty and staff motivated and encouraged throughout the school year. This year's theme is "Two Wolves ". I hope it encourages you as well.

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said, “My son, the battle is between two “wolves” inside us all.
One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf wins?” The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.
[This is a great lesson to be learned by all.]
