FSA Trivia Night

October 21, 2017
Not sure what FSA’s Trivia Night is all about? Here are some answers to frequently asked questions.

1. How is the night structured?
Teams of up to ten people compete against each other by answering trivia questions. The questions are divided into rounds. Correct answers earn points, and the team with the most points at the end of the night wins. Teams can also earn points for creativity. Since this is a BYO Everything party, some teams choose to decorate their tables and to wear costumes to try to win extra points.
2. What does “BYO Everything” mean?
BYO Everything means that you bring everything you need. Food, drinks, tableware, and decorations are up to you. We will provide you with a 30”x120” table covered with a white plastic table cloth and ten chairs.
3. Who makes the teams? I’m new to OLW and don’t know a lot of people.
Trivia Night is a great way to meet others! People can sign up together as a full team of ten, a partial team, or as individuals. If you’d like, we can place you on a team to reach ten people, or you can compete as a team with less than ten people. To be fair, teams cannot have more than ten people.
4. Are the questions pretty hard? I don’t know a lot!
You’d be surprised at how much useless knowledge you really know. That’s what makes Trivia Night so fun! But to be fair, the use of electronic devices or anything other than your brain to help you answer trivia questions is not allowed. You must rely on your own brain and those of your teammates. So, choose your team wisely!
5. It all sounds great! What else do I need to know?
Bring money for Heads/Tails. Invite some new families to sit with you. Follow the decor guidelines. Play fairly to win bragging rights and the traveling trophy. Pay attention to your surroundings – everything is fair game at Trivia Night. Have fun.
Hosted by the Cherwins, the Craigs, the McKennas & the Stubitschs

Halloween Parade

October 31, 2017
01:15 PM
Tuesday, October 31st Halloween Parade and Costumes
BOTH elementary and middle school students may dress up in costumes for Halloween.
All costumes should follow the guidelines listed below:
• Students should wear their costumes to school.
• Costumes should be fun, simple and appropriate for the school setting.
• Students may not wear costumes related to violence, weapons, blood, or that lack modesty.
• As always safety is a priority. Please keep this in mind while making costume choices. Students need to be able to move freely throughout the day. Make sure that your child is wearing comfortable, appropriate shoes during the day. They can change shoes before the parade if necessary.
• To allow for a more conducive learning environment in the morning, students in the elementary building should not wear face paint and must wait until before the parade to put on any masks or accessories that may accompany their costume. Any type of hair coloring should be applied before coming to school.
• Since the middle school students do not participate in the parade, they should not wear masks, but may wear face paint in moderation.

The elementary school will continue with its parade tradition this year. At 1:15PM, the students will exit the front doors on Mitchell St., proceed along Park St. to Ridge Ave., enter the middle school building and pass through the gym and then return to their classrooms for their holiday treats.
