NEW Multi-Purpose Room

Before the 2018-19 school year, the downstairs library was transformed into a large new multi-purpose space and storage area, while two unused classrooms were converted into modern library and resource centers for K-2nd grades and 3rd-5th grades. All the 6th-8th grade books were move into the middle school to give easier access to those books for middle school students. The library project involved asbestos removal, new flooring and paint, updated lighting, and new furniture. To create the two new library centers, the unused classrooms were cleaned out and freshly painted. Then many people spent hours and hours moving and reshelving the books. The results are fantastic! Elementary students are now eating in the multi-purpose room and parent groups use the space for meetings. The first school assembly to be held in the multi-purpose room was a rocking good time with children’s musician Jeanie B!

We are so grateful to our school community and friends who raised $48,000 during the 2018 Annual Gala to help fund this project. Additionally, we are thankful for the help and donation of furniture from the Bertolini Family and Siok Contract Representatives.

Stage 1 – Cleaning out the library and the two unused classrooms

Stage 2 – Everything is cleared for asbestos removal and then painting began

Stage 3 – New flooring, new storage room

And the final beautiful multi-purpose room with a mosaic that mimics the Blessed Mother painting that is in our Church. This mosaic was created putting together individual tiles that were painted by students. The two new library spaces are also bright and inviting.

Students enjoy having lunch in the new space. And it’s great for small assemblies as well.
